Sprouts Top Tips
While this plant can grow either in a container or in the ground, the key is to make sure the soil around it can drain in either case. Grit in the bottom of a container can help add extra drainage, and adding sand to your compost or potting mix can also promote fast drainage. Keep an eye on its roots in winter to ensure they don't get waterlogged. Make sure it gets direct sun as well which will help it dry out quick enough and grow as it is accustomed to in its subtropical home.
