Cast Iron Plant - Aspidistra elatior
*SALE* Some brown tips, but new leaves are on their way.
For those of you looking for a statement plant that's hard to kill you may have got to the end of your search. Cast Iron plants are relatively hard to come by, however, they are perfect house plants.
They have low light needs so are brilliant for a shadier spot. They're slow growers so whilst things like fertilising will make the plant thrive, they got their name due to being notoriously difficult to kill so if you're not particularly green-thumbed you don't have to worry.
- Avoid direct sunlight, place in a shady area. Can tolerate very low light
- Water when the top few inches of soil are dry - does not like to be overly soggy
- Likes moderate humidity so can be misted occasionally but this is not essential
- Fertilise once a month after watering in spring/summer
