Our British-grown mixed Violas and Pansies bring an instant splash of colour to pots, window boxes, hanging baskets and garden borders. With their cheerful flowers in a mix of colours and patterns, these hardy little plants are particularly useful for adding colour through autumn, winter and spring when much of the garden is resting.

Origin
These are cultivated garden varieties of Viola, a widespread genus found naturally across temperate regions of the world. Our plants are British grown.
Light
Prefers full sun to partial shade. During the cooler months, a bright position will encourage plenty of flowers. They can tolerate some shade, although flowering may be reduced.
Water
Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Plants grown in pots and containers may need more regular watering, particularly during dry or windy weather. Always allow excess water to drain freely.
Humidity
No special humidity requirements. Violas and Pansies are outdoor plants and are happiest with good airflow.
Soil
Grow in fertile, well-draining soil or a good-quality peat-free multipurpose compost. When planting in containers, make sure the pot has adequate drainage holes.
Food
Plants grown in containers will benefit from a balanced liquid feed every few weeks while actively growing and flowering. Plants growing in fertile garden soil generally require less additional feeding.
Temperature
Violas and Pansies prefer cooler conditions and are hardy enough to cope with cold autumn and winter weather. Flowering may temporarily slow during particularly cold or frosty periods before picking up again as conditions improve.

Violas and Pansies are generally considered non-toxic to cats and dogs.

Regularly remove faded flowers by pinching them off along with their stems. Deadheading prevents the plant putting energy into producing seeds and encourages it to keep producing fresh flowers for longer.
