Occasionally, you may find reused bubble wrap – this has been donated to us, and we encourage you to reuse it too.

Orders are usually packed and dispatched within 2–4 working days. We may occasionally delay dispatch during periods of extreme weather to protect your plants. We always prioritise plant health over speed of delivery.

The Begonia rex ‘Red Kiss’ is a stunning red-leaf Begonia known for its rich, velvety foliage and gothic charm. Each leaf glows with a bold crimson centre, surrounded by dark, nearly black margins and jagged edges that give it serious statement-plant energy. Perfect for collectors or anyone looking to add colourful foliage to their indoor jungle.

This Rex Begonia thrives in bright, indirect light with good humidity and consistent warmth. Avoid getting the leaves wet when watering – go straight to the soil or bottom-water to prevent leaf damage. With the right care, this indoor Begonia will provide year-round interest and texture.

Ideal for shelves, sideboards, or terrariums, Begonia ‘Red Kiss’ is a must-have for anyone after a low-light friendly foliage plant that doesn’t compromise on impact.

Scientific Name
Begonia rex (King Begonia) ‘Red Kiss’

This variety is a cultivar of Begonia which is part of the rex group of cultivars

Common Name
Rex Begonia, King Begonia, Painted Leaf Begonia, Fancy-Leaf Begonia

Origin
Originates in Northeastern India, Southern China and Vietnam

Light
Thrives in bright, indirect light, but will tolerate some shade. A North- or Northeast-facing window is a good bet here!

Water
Keep the soil moist, but ensure good drainage and don't allow to sit in water. Water when the top inch of soil is dry, and reduce watering in winter. Don't water onto the leaves.

Humidity
Begonias like humidity; average indoor humidity is fine as long as they aren't too close to a radiator which will dry them out! They will love a bright kitchen or bathroom.

Soil
A well-draining mix with added sand and coir, such as a blend designed for ferns, will work well here. Repot every three years or once the plant and roots are crowding the pot.

Food
Feed every four waters in the growing season, reduce to every six in autumn and winter.

Temperature
Ideal temperature range of 15-26°C; don't let it drop below 12°C in winter.

Pet-safe
No, this plant is toxic to pets and small humans.

Sprouts Top Tips
Water directly into the soil or bottom-water by placing the plant into a tray of water for about ten minutes to let it drink its fill - these Begonias don't like getting their leaves wet.
