Scientific Name
Hyacinthus multiflora ‘Blue Pearl’ (hyacinth, variety: Pink Pearl)

Common Name
Blue Pearl Multiflora Hyacinth

Origin
A cultivated variety of Hyacinthus orientalis, originally native to regions around the eastern Mediterranean and the Middle East.

Pruning Tips
Remove spent flower stems after blooming to encourage the bulb to focus on energy storage. Allow the foliage to die back naturally for strong blooms the following year.

Wildlife Value
The sweetly scented blooms attract early pollinators, including bees, making it a valuable addition to spring gardens.

Positioning
Thrives in full sun to partial shade. Ideal for borders, containers, or naturalising in garden beds.

Water
Water moderately during the growing season, keeping the soil moist but well-drained. Avoid overwatering to prevent bulb rot.

Soil
Prefers well-drained, moderately fertile soil. Avoid planting in heavy, waterlogged soils.

Food
Apply a balanced fertiliser at planting and again in early spring as growth begins to support flowering and bulb development.

Pet-safe
Toxic if ingested, so plant in areas away from pets and children.

Sprouts Top Tips
For the best effect, plant in groups of 5–10 bulbs. Hyacinthus multiflora ‘Blue Pearl’ is especially effective in containers where its fragrance and delicate blooms can be enjoyed up close. Pair with other spring bulbs like tulips or crocuses for a vibrant layered display.
