A compact, clump-forming perennial, Campanula carpatica ‘Blaue Clips’ is known for its masses of upward-facing, bell-shaped blooms in a soft lavender-blue shade. Flowering profusely from early summer into late summer, it’s ideal for edging borders, tucking into rockeries, or brightening up containers. Its tidy mound of green foliage provides the perfect backdrop for the cheerful flowers.

Sometimes listed as Campanula carpatica ‘Blue Clips’

Common Name
Carpathian Bellflower, Blue Clips Bellflower

Pruning Tips
Deadhead spent blooms regularly to prolong flowering. Cut back after the first flush to encourage a second bloom and maintain a neat habit.

Wildlife Value
Flowers are visited by bees and other small pollinators.

Positioning
Best in full sun to partial shade. Perfect for rock gardens, containers, and the front of borders.

Water
Water regularly in dry weather, especially in containers. Allow the top layer of soil to dry slightly between waterings.

Soil
Prefers well-drained, neutral to slightly alkaline soil. Add grit if planting in heavy soil or containers.

Food
Feed lightly with a balanced fertiliser in spring. Overfeeding can encourage too much leafy growth at the expense of flowers.

Pet-safe
Non-toxic and safe for pets.

Sprouts Top Tips
Tuck into stone troughs or alpine planters with other sun-loving perennials for a long-flowering, low-maintenance display that thrives in small spaces.
