We’re beyond excited to share some incredible news... Sprouts of Bristol is heading back to RHS Malvern Spring Festival! This time, we’re bringing something truly special: an immersive rainforest-inspired show garden called Beneath the Canopy, in collaboration with the talented Ferne, of Ferne Creative.
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to step into the heart of a tropical rainforest? Beneath the Canopy is designed to transport visitors into the rich, green world of the Amazon Rainforest, the ancestral home of many of the houseplants we know and love. But this exhibit is about so much more than just plants - it’s about the creatures they share their habitat with, the challenges they face in the wild, and the role we play in their survival.
🌿 A Living Rainforest Scene – A lush, multi-layered planting scheme featuring towering tropical plants, ground creepers, and stunning epiphytes.
🦜 Illustrated Wildlife – Oversized, whimsical illustrations of rainforest creatures to highlight their fascinating relationships with plants.
💧 Sounds and Sensory Details – From the soft sound of falling rain to the chirping of insects and birds, visitors will be fully immersed in a rainforest experience.
💡 Practical Houseplant Advice – Learn how to translate rainforest conditions into your home, with insights on light, humidity, and sustainable plant care.
At Sprouts of Bristol, we believe that understanding where plants come from is key to growing them successfully at home. Through this show garden, we want to demystify the common challenges of houseplant care while also sparking conversations about conservation, sustainability, and ethical plant sourcing. Many of the tropical plants in our homes have origins in the world’s most delicately-balanced ecosystems, and this exhibit highlights the importance of protecting them.
Founder of Sprouts of Bristol, Jessy brings a background in design, immersive storytelling, and a deep knowledge of houseplant care. After leading Sprouts’ award-winning RHS Malvern Spring Festival 2024 trade stand, she’s thrilled to be back with a bigger and even more meaningful project.
A wildlife illustrator and conservation storyteller, Ferne is passionate about showcasing the natural world through art. Her distinctive illustrations will bring Beneath the Canopy to life, creating an experience that blends education with artistry.
