When Laura & Robb approached us to help transform their wedding venue with potted plants, we were beyond thrilled. Their theme of a cottage garden, infused with touches of romance and elegance, set the stage for an unforgettable day. With every plant chosen for its character and beauty, the space was transformed into a lush, floral wonderland.

Set at the breathtaking The Mount Without - conveniently, just down the road from our shop - Laura and Robb had a stunning canvas for their floral vision. The beauty of the plants, from vibrant roses to delicate hydrangeas, brought their rustic cottage garden dream to life. The rich greenery, paired with fragrant blooms, invited their guests into an enchanting atmosphere.

Laura and Robb’s vision was clear: create a wedding atmosphere that was both romantic and inviting, where guests could wander between the carefully styled indoor and outdoor spaces, surrounded by natural beauty. Our task was to design and style these spaces with plants to complement the venue’s elegance, while also bringing the romance and relaxed comfort of a garden party.

Drawing inspiration from Laura and Robb's cottage garden theme, we selected a range of plants that not only complemented each other but also brought a sense of romance and whimsy to the space.

🌿 Feature Plants:

• Roses – Placed strategically throughout the venue, the soft, pastel hues of roses added a romantic touch. Their delicate blooms are well-known symbols of love, making them perfect for the couple’s big day.

• Hydrangeas – Recognisable by their large, round blossoms, these plants added abundance to the displays with soft tones of pink and white.

• Heathers and Grasses – These provided texture and movement, contrasting beautifully with the bolder roses and hydrangeas.

• Fragrant Thyme – Artfully positioned in key areas, thyme plants filled the air with their fresh aroma, adding another sensory dimension to the celebration and the cottage garden atmosphere.

These plants were carefully arranged both inside and outside the venue, ensuring that the natural beauty of the cottage garden flowed seamlessly from the ceremony space to the reception area.

Outdoor Styling: Garden Elegance Meets Romance

We started with the outdoor garden, where terracotta pots filled with roses, hydrangeas, and fragrant thyme lined the stone steps, providing the perfect welcome. Guests enjoyed the outdoor cocktail hour accompanied by the aroma of thyme and the atmosphere of rustic elegance offered by the combination of plants. The garden at The Mount Without complemented our plants beautifully, so that the whole outdoor space became an enchanting garden retreat.

Indoor Transformation: A Lush Garden Inside

Inside the venue, we styled the main room for the ceremony and later flipped the space for the wedding breakfast. We dressed the long banqueting tables in foliage and potted plants, complementing the couple's vintage brass candle holders. For a refined yet relaxed dining atmosphere, the table settings were adorned with smaller plants, including delicate cyclamen and ivy. And, of course, all arranged to maximise the impact whilst allowing plenty of space for the wedding feast to be served.

Guests were also led down into the crypt by small roses and other greenery, incorporating the cottage garden into every part of this wedding venue.

Bringing the Space to Life

We considered the placement of each plant when designing the brief and throughout the day. Our terracotta pots added warmth and texture to the tables alongside the vintage candlesticks picked out by the lovely couple. The result: a venue overflowing with lush greenery in a romantic cottage garden aesthetic, perfectly capturing Laura and Robb's elegant vision.
