A perennial whose white flowers shoot out from clumps of deciduous foliage on tall stems. Fully hardy throughout the UK.
Add this plant to your borders or outdoor spaces to add a splash of colour with its bright white flowers. Over time, this plant likes to spread, so take care if you want to keep it in one spot; this does make it easy to propagate from root cuttings, though! Plant in freely draining soil in a spot that gets some sun and it'll reward you with ample flowers, and return each year in spring.

Wildlife Value Known for attracting pollinators, including bees. Can provide shelter over winter for insects and other small friends, as long as you don't prune back till spring.
Positioning Full sun to partial shade, and can grow in both sheltered or exposed conditions. Water Keep the soil moist; only water in particularly dry weather.
Soil This plant likes its soil to drain well, so ensure it won't be sat in a puddle over winter!
Food Will benefit from annual mulching, i.e. the addition of fresh, fertile compost.
Pet-safe Yes, this plant has no toxicity reported, although a lot of nibbling won't be good for your furry friend or the plant!
Sprouts Top Tips Can be susceptible to powdery mildews, so make sure the foliage is somewhere it won't sit wet and where the soil can drain to help avoid this issue.
We have launched our first (hopefully monthly) ‘Letter from the Founder’ blog post. I talk about a string of bad luck, from water gushing from various ceilings in my life to a break-in, and also reflect on the incredible work we have done to win two awards earlier this year. I look ahead to what’s coming up in August, projects we are working on with our clients, and some thoughts about the rest of the year. And I give an insight into my brain, why I am who I am and why I’m so thankful for all the opportunities, passion and excitement that running Sprouts has given me as a founder and as a woman.
