Lightweight Expanding Clay Aggregate (LECA) is a growing medium that can be used instead of, or additionally to regular soil. LECA is super absorbent so when you water your plant it swells up then gradually provides water to the plants root system. Additionally LECA provides great airflow increasing the roots ability to take in oxygen.
