RHS Malvern Spring Festival 2025: 8th - 11th May 2025

Welcome to Beneath the Canopy, an immersive show garden created by Sprouts of Bristol in collaboration with Ferne Creative for RHS Malvern 2025. This exhibit transports visitors into the heart of the Amazon Rainforest, showcasing the plants, wildlife, and natural processes that make this ecosystem one of the most biodiverse places on Earth.

The Concept

At Sprouts of Bristol, we’re passionate about connecting people with plants - not just as houseplants, but as part of a much bigger story. Many of the tropical plants we love growing in our homes originate in rainforest environments, where they exist in harmony within a vast network of creatures and climatic conditions. Beneath the Canopy brings this story to life, inviting visitors on a whimsical, educational journey into the world these plants call home.

Inspired by our experience teaching houseplant care to our customers at Sprouts of Bristol, this garden explores the real-life conditions that shape plant growth: dappled light, high humidity, rich biodiversity, and natural fluctuations. And even in the environment these plants have adapted to, their 'imperfections'. It also highlights the critical role of rainforest wildlife in pollination, seed dispersal, and overall ecosystem balance.

What Visitors Can Expect

Sustainability & Sourcing

Our commitment to sustainability is woven into every aspect of this exhibit:

  • Responsibly Sourced Plants – We prioritise UK-grown plants where possible and ensure that all species are cultivated commercially rather than taken from the wild.
  • Reusable Materials – The structure and elements of the garden are designed to be repurposed, with plants being rehomed or donated after the show.
  • Eco-Friendly Production – Locally-printed illustrative panels use recyclable materials, and we minimise single-use plastics throughout the project.
