Sip in style with the Magpie x Hornsea Cat Orange Mug, featuring one of John Clappison’s most iconic 1960s illustrations. Originally created for Hornsea ceramics around 1967, the playful cat design has been redrawn by Magpie directly from the Hornsea Museum archives and finished in authentic retro colours of the era.

Crafted from stoneware and hand-glazed so each piece is beautifully unique, this stackable mug combines timeless mid-century design with everyday practicality. Presented in a matching patterned gift box, it makes a thoughtful gift for design lovers or a nostalgic addition to your own kitchen.

Hornsea Potteries, founded in 1949 by brothers Colin and Desmond Rawson, became a pioneer in British ceramics with distinctive, trend-setting designs until its closure in 2000. Today, Magpie continues the legacy with official reissues of Hornsea’s most loved patterns.

Features:

  • Material: Hand-glazed stoneware
  • Design: Cat Orange by John Clappison (c.1967)
  • Gift-Boxed: Presented in a matching patterned box
  • Stackable: Designed to sit neatly with other Hornsea mugs

  • Origin: Official Magpie x Hornsea collaboration
