This moss is picked out by eye and the weight below is just used as a guide as the moss can fluctuate in weight due to the amount of moisture in the moss.

This is living moss and is not preserved. The tray roughly measures 28 x 38cm and usually has three layers of moss covering a rough surface area of around 0.3m2 (3000cm2) but this is worked out on average and depends on the thickness of the moss.

Moss for my Japanese grden

This stuff has transformed the grottiest strip of earth ever into a thing of beauty. A couple of tree stumps were present already and I placed a couple of rocks randomly to complete the look. I`m crazy about my moss garden and it intrigues passers by. Did a few square metres last Summer and added to it this month.......both lots were from Sprouts. It arrives well boxed and cut into "squares". You just slap it down and water it in basically. I`m thrilled with it. Thanks Sprouts!
