🌿 Our 7-day Plant Promise

Buying plants online can feel risky – that’s why every order comes with our 7-day Plant Promise.

If anything goes wrong in transit, just get in touch and we’ll help put it right.

Find out more here

Every plant is carefully packed by our small, plant-loving Bristol team using protective, mostly plastic-free packaging.

Occasionally, you may find reused bubble wrap – this has been donated to us, and we encourage you to reuse it too.

Orders are usually packed and dispatched within 2–4 working days. We may occasionally delay dispatch during periods of extreme weather to protect your plants. We always prioritise plant health over speed of delivery.

Delivery is £4.99 for any number of items, or free on orders over £60. We deliver across the UK only.

We also offer local, bike-powered delivery in Bristol for £4.99 via Pedal Collective, a gentler option for plants and the planet.

We believe in paying people fairly, that’s why we’ve been a Real Living Wage Employer from the very beginning. We’re an independent Bristol business, packing every order ourselves.

Supporting us means supporting fair work.

A bold and dramatic Cambria orchid, this Oncidium-type hybrid produces sprays of deep red to burgundy flowers with ruffled petals and warm yellow centres. The blooms are held along tall, elegant stems, creating a striking, architectural display. Lightly scented or scentless, this variety is grown for its rich colour and reliable flowering rather than fragrance.

Scientific Name
Cambria Orchid (Oncidium-type hybrid)

Cambria orchids are complex intergeneric hybrids within the Orchidaceae family. Oncidium-type Cambria hybrids are bred primarily from Oncidium and closely related genera. Due to extensive hybridisation and seed-grown production, individual plants cannot usually be identified beyond their general hybrid type.

Synonyms
Cambria Orchid, Oncidium-type Cambria hybrid

Common Name
Cambria Orchid

Origin
Hybrid origin. Parent plants are native to Central and South America, where they grow epiphytically in warm, airy forest environments.

Light
Prefers bright, indirect light. Can tolerate some gentle morning or late afternoon sun, but avoid strong direct sunlight, which may scorch the leaves. Good light levels are essential for flowering.

Water
Water thoroughly when the compost begins to dry out, allowing excess water to drain away freely. Water more regularly during active growth and flowering, reducing frequency in winter. Do not allow the plant to sit in water.

Humidity
Enjoys moderate humidity but adapts well to average household conditions. Performs well near a pebble tray or in a room with good airflow.

Soil
Use a free-draining orchid bark mix suitable for epiphytic orchids. Repot every 1–2 years, ideally after flowering or when new growth appears.

Food
Feed every 2–3 waters during the growing season with a diluted orchid fertiliser. Reduce feeding significantly in autumn and winter.

Temperature
Prefers intermediate temperatures. Ideal range is 18–24°C. Avoid temperatures below 12°C and protect from cold draughts.

Pet-safe
Non-toxic. Considered safe for pets and children.

Sprouts Top Tips
Bright light and a slight drop in night-time temperature can help encourage repeat flowering once the plant has finished blooming.

Extras
Each pseudobulb flowers once, but new pseudobulbs will develop and produce future blooms with the right care.

Did You Know?
Many darker-flowered Oncidium-type Cambria orchids are grown for colour impact rather than scent, making them ideal statement plants.
