Formerly classified within the Sansevieria genus, this plant was reclassified into Dracaena following genetic studies. Despite this, Sansevieria remains the most commonly used and recognised name in horticulture and retail.

Origin
Cultivar derived from African Sansevieria species, originally native to dry regions of West and Central Africa
Light
Highly adaptable. Grows well in bright, indirect light but also tolerates lower light levels. Avoid prolonged harsh, direct sun which can scorch the leaves.
Water
Water sparingly. Allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings. Overwatering is the most common cause of problems, especially in winter when watering should be reduced further.
Humidity
Thrives in average household humidity and does not require misting. Avoid placing in persistently damp environments.
Soil
Use a free-draining compost, ideally a cactus or succulent mix. Good drainage is essential to prevent root rot. Repot every 2–3 years if required.
Food
Feed every 4–6 waters during spring and summer with a balanced or cactus fertiliser. Do not feed in winter.
Temperature
Prefers temperatures between 15–27°C. Avoid cold draughts and temperatures below 10°C.

Toxic if ingested – keep out of reach of pets and children.
