Scarlet Star - Guzmania 'Ostara' - Bromeliad

These Scarlet Stars are obviously potted, but in the wild they actually grow off other plants - almost like a snazzy little accessory for other plants!

We suggest you keep them potted rather than trying to find them a host (probably a lot easier!). The bloom only occurs once in its lifetime, but lasts a long time so you'll be able to enjoy it in all its splendor for many months.

Notes

  • Likes bright indirect light - can cope with fluorescent light
  • Try to keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged
  • Likes high humidity - may benefit from a pebble tray
  • Can be misted but avoid misting the flower
  • Ideally use rain or distilled water when watering/misting
  • Can benefit from fertilising during the growing season
  • Pet-safe

Pot D - 11cm

All our plants come in a plastic nursery pot as standard.
Decorative pots are sold separately and can be found here.
