This striking trailing fuchsia produces masses of elegant rose-pink and deep violet pendant flowers that cascade beautifully from hanging baskets and patio containers throughout summer. Fuchsia ‘Diva Rose & Violet’ is a vigorous and long-flowering variety, creating a colourful waterfall of blooms from late spring until the first frosts. Its dramatic two-tone flowers add depth, movement, and a classic cottage garden feel to outdoor spaces.

Fuchsia ‘Diva Rose & Violet’, commonly known simply as Fuchsia, is loved for its graceful dangling blooms and reliable flowering performance. The rich violet petals contrast beautifully against the softer rose-pink sepals, standing out against fresh green foliage and blending wonderfully with other summer basket plants. Particularly suited to the British climate, it performs best in slightly cooler conditions and continues flowering long after many summer plants begin to fade.

Tender Perennial
Trailing, Basket Plant, Long Flowering

Flowers: Late Spring to First Frosts
Foliage: Spring to Autumn

Scientific Name
Fuchsia ‘Diva Rose & Violet’

Common Name
Fuchsia

Origin
Cultivated hybrid originating from Central and South American Fuchsia species

Pruning Tips
Remove spent flowers regularly and lightly pinch out stems during summer to encourage bushier growth and continuous blooming. Trim back before overwintering or in spring once fresh growth begins.

Wildlife Value
The nectar-rich flowers attract bees and other pollinating insects throughout summer.

Positioning
Best grown in partial shade or a sheltered sunny spot in hanging baskets, patio containers, and window boxes. Protect from harsh afternoon sun and strong winds.

Water
Keep compost consistently moist during the growing season, particularly in hanging baskets which can dry out quickly in warmer weather. Avoid allowing plants to dry out completely.

Soil
Thrives in fertile, moisture-retentive but well-draining compost enriched with organic matter.

Food
Feed every 1–2 weeks with a high-potash liquid fertiliser during the flowering season to encourage prolonged blooming.

Pet-safe
Generally considered non-toxic to pets and humans. The ripe berries are technically edible, although rarely eaten.

Sprouts Top Tips
The rich purple tones pair beautifully with silver foliage plants or softer pink flowers for a lush, layered summer basket display.
