Bring the enchanting beauty of UK and European fungi to your home with this set of 3 wooden magnets, featuring the Magpie Inkcap, Scarlet Elf cup, and Amethyst Deceiver. Each magnet is meticulously illustrated, printed, and designed in the UK using responsibly sourced walnut MDF. Each fungi illustration is hand-drawn before being printed and transformed into magnets, celebrating local fungi's diverse and often underrepresented beauty.

There are three magnet designs in the set: -

  • The Amethyst Deceiver is a mild-tasting, edible mushroom named for its changing vibrant purple colour, which fades with age or weather exposure.

  • Named for its black and white speckled appearance, the Magpie Inkcap undergoes deliquescence, where its cap dissolves into an inky black liquid as it matures.

  • Scarlet Elf Cup grows on decaying wood, often hidden among leaf litter in damp woodlands where its presence is considered an indicator of healthy, undisturbed habitats.

Letter from the founder - August 2024 - Sprouts of Bristol
We have launched our first (hopefully monthly) ‘Letter from the Founder’ blog post. I talk about a string of bad luck, from water gushing from various ceilings in my life to a break-in, and also reflect on the incredible work we have done to win two awards earlier this year. I look ahead to what’s coming up in August, projects we are working on with our clients, and some thoughts about the rest of the year. And I give an insight into my brain, why I am who I am and why I’m so thankful for all the opportunities, passion and excitement that running Sprouts has given me as a founder and as a woman.
