Leucanthemum ‘Macaroon’ is a charming, compact Shasta Daisy that produces an abundance of creamy-white, fully double flowers with soft, ruffled centres from early to late summer. Its beautifully layered blooms resemble fluffy pom-poms, creating a fresh, elegant display that brightens borders and containers for months on end.

This easy-to-grow perennial forms a neat mound of rich green foliage and is perfect for cottage gardens, wildlife planting and sunny borders. With its long flowering season, excellent garden performance and suitability as a cut flower, ‘Macaroon’ is a reliable favourite that returns year after year.

Perennial
Deciduous • Long Flowering • Pollinator Friendly • Excellent Cut Flower • Cottage Garden Favourite • Great for Containers • Low Maintenance

Flowers
Large, fully double creamy-white flowers with soft yellow centres that become hidden as the blooms mature. Flowers are produced from June through to August, with regular deadheading encouraging repeat blooms.

Foliage
Deep green, lance-shaped leaves form a compact, bushy mound that provides an attractive backdrop to the flowers throughout the growing season.

Scientific Name
Leucanthemum × superbum ‘Macaroon’

Common Name
Shasta Daisy ‘Macaroon’

Origin
Cultivar of the garden hybrid Leucanthemum × superbum, developed from European and North American daisy species.

Pruning Tips
Deadhead spent flowers regularly to encourage further blooms throughout summer. Cut stems back to ground level in autumn after flowering has finished, or leave the faded seed heads over winter for additional interest before cutting back in early spring.

Wildlife Value
The flowers attract bees, butterflies and other beneficial pollinating insects, making it an excellent addition to wildlife-friendly gardens.

Positioning
Thrives in full sun and performs best in an open, sunny position with good air circulation.

Water
Water regularly while establishing. Once established, water during prolonged dry spells, particularly in hot weather or when grown in containers.

Soil
Prefers fertile, well-drained soil and grows well in loam, chalk or sandy soils. Avoid heavy, waterlogged ground.

Food
Apply a balanced fertiliser or mulch with well-rotted compost in spring to encourage vigorous growth and plenty of flowers.

Pet-safe
Generally considered non-toxic to cats, dogs and horses.

Sprouts Top Tips
Plant in groups for a striking summer display and deadhead regularly to keep the flowers coming. Divide established clumps every three to four years in spring or autumn to maintain vigour and keep plants flowering at their best.
