January has flown by, and with it, we’ve been busy behind the scenes planning, refreshing the shop, and preparing for a big year ahead. There’s plenty to update you on, so grab a cuppa, and let’s dive in!
January got off to an exciting start as Ferne and I headed to Top Drawer London on the 13th! It was a fantastic chance to catch up with many of our favourite brands and discover some incredible new makers whose work we instantly fell in love with. We’ve already started filling the shop with fresh finds, with plenty more on the way.
If there’s anything you’d love to see at Sprouts, let us know – we always love hearing your ideas! In the meantime, here are some of the latest arrivals:
Brie Harrison – We were so excited to meet Brie at Top Drawer! Her beautiful botanical-inspired designs feature on greetings cards, prints, stationery, and homeware, bringing a touch of nature and colour into everyday life.
James Barker – We’ve had our eye on James’ incredible illustrations for a while, and we’re thrilled to have his designs in the shop at last! His work is inspired by nature and natural history, with a distinctive, charmingly naïve style. His frog bags have already been a big hit!
Kitty Kenda Papergoods – A restock of gorgeous, feel-good greetings cards, each designed with heartfelt sentiment. Every piece begins as an original painting or drawing, making each card something to cherish.
Studio Wald – A fresh delivery of their funky botanical greetings cards and ever-popular pocket flower presses, perfect for capturing little snippets of nature.
Strangford – We’ve restocked our collection of risograph prints, ideal for adding a pop of colour to your walls.
East End Press – Their stunning handmade garlands are back, alongside a new range of animal mask greetings cards, which have been bringing plenty of smiles.
St Eval – A big restock of their beautifully scented candles, now featuring their brand-new packaging!
Otherly Oatm*lk Chocolate – More of your favourite ethical, plant-based chocolate, including three delicious new flavours: cherry, birthday cake, and peppermint.
Sorrel Studio – A lovely new selection of handmade jesmonite pots, tying in perfectly with our coral-themed window display.
The Flora Lab – A fresh restock of hand-poured wax melts, including their brand-new midnight cherry scent, which is already proving to be a favourite!
Evermade – Another brilliant brand we discovered at Top Drawer! Evermade collaborates with artists and designers to create playfully eclectic, design-led prints, gifts, and stationery.
Lauren Morsley – We’ve been eyeing up Lauren’s work for months, and we’re thrilled to finally have her prints and cards in the shop! Her designs are full of charm, packed with character, and bursting with bold colour.
With Valentine’s Day around the corner and early spring on the horizon, the shop is feeling full of warmth and colour. Whether you’re after a unique card, a thoughtful gift, or a little treat for yourself, there’s plenty to discover! Check out the blog post Rhianna has written on the different types of Valentine’s Day gifter we cater for here at Sprouts…
📖 Which Valentine’s Day Gifter are you?
We’ve officially outgrown the flat rate VAT scheme - much quicker than I expected! This means we’re moving from the 6.5% flat rate VAT to the standard VAT scheme, which requires us to pay 20% of all our revenue to the government.
While I’m all for supporting public services, the reality is that small businesses like ours bear the brunt of VAT costs while big corporations find ways to dodge tax entirely. SMEs account for 61% of total UK employment and 53% of private sector turnover, yet we’re hit the hardest. So, these next 12 months will be crucial for Sprouts, and we’ll be thinking up new ways to bring in revenue while continuing to grow sustainably.
Running a small business? It’s basically long-form hurdle jumping - but we’re in it for the long run!
February is that in-between time where winter lingers, but the first signs of spring are on their way. If you’re itching to get back into the garden, now is the perfect time to plant spring bulbs and start planning a pollinator-friendly space.
We’ve got loads of spring bulbs in stock, and if you’re looking for inspiration, check out our new blog post:

To help you get started, ALL outdoor plants are on a 3-for-2 deal (cheapest item free)!
Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, and whether you’re celebrating romance, friendship, or self-love, we’ve got plenty of gorgeous dried flowers, gifts, and plants to help you mark the occasion.
Because, let’s be honest, plants make better Valentine’s gifts than flowers - they last longer, grow with you, and bring so much joy!
We’ve got loads of exciting projects coming up - some secret, some not! One thing I can share is that wedding planning for 2025 couples is well underway, and we’re already working with more offices to green up their spaces with our plant installations.
Sprouts is growing (literally and figuratively!), and I can’t wait to share more of what we’ve been working on in the months ahead.
As always, we couldn’t do this without your support, kindness, and love for independent businesses - so thank you for being part of this journey.
See you in the shop soon!
